Dr. Franjo Tuđman Bridge
Description
The Dr. Franjo Tuđman Bridge (old name: Most Dubrovnik) is a bridge that connects the two shores of the bay of the Dubrovnik River near the city of Dubrovnik.
The idea of building a bridge over the Dubrovnik River is about 30 years old, and the realization itself began in 1989 with the construction of access roads from the settlement of Lozica on the west side and the Dubrovnik city area of Nuncijat on the east side. Construction was delayed during the Homeland War. Construction continued in 1998, and the bridge was completed and put into traffic in May 2002.
Good to know
The bridge is of the suspended type and consists of two parts of the prestressed beam assembly on the western side and the main asymmetric assembly with a suspended coupled beam on the eastern side. On the western side, on the access road, a 66-meter long viaduct was built.
The length of the bridge itself is 518 meters.
The height of the bridge is 50 m
